Terms of Use

1The app

Wird is a free app developed by wird-app.com to help you keep up your acts of worship and your daily portions. It is an aid, not a substitute for people of knowledge, and it issues no religious verdicts.

2Religious content and its sources

• The Quran in the script of the Madinah Mushaf issued by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, shown as it is without any alteration.
• Hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
• Adhkar from Hisn al-Muslim with its referencing.
• Tafsirs attributed to their books and authors as they are.

We have done our utmost in accuracy and fidelity; if you see an error in a text, its vowelling or its attribution, tell us so it can be corrected. And whatever of your religion is unclear to you, ask the people of knowledge about it.

3Times, Qibla and the date

• Prayer times are calculated astronomically with established methods you choose from, and may differ by minutes from your country’s official calendar or your mosque’s adhan. Where they differ, your mosque’s adhan and your country’s calendar are what count.
• The Qibla direction relies on your device’s compass, which is affected by metal, magnets and nearby devices, so verify it.
• The Hijri date is calculated and may differ from the sighting by a day; rely on your country’s announcement for fasting and the Eids, and you may adjust it in settings.
• Reminders are controlled by your device’s system and may be delayed or not arrive at all with power saving or when the app is closed. So do not make them your only path to praying on time.

4Your account

The account — if you create one — is local to your device alone and does not move to another device except by exporting your data. You are responsible for your password; because it is stored hashed on your device, we cannot recover it for you. You may delete the account and all its data at any time.

5Proper use

The app is for your personal use. It is not permitted to:

• use it or its texts in anything that offends the Quran, the Sunnah of the Prophet, or any person.
• distort the religious texts or attribute them to other than their authors.
• copy the app, republish it, sell it under another name, or introduce anything harmful to its users.

6Rights

The design of Wird, its logo and its code are the right of its developer. The religious texts belong to their sources and the publishers named, the fonts to their designers under their licences, and the adhan recording to its owners. Your use of the app transfers none of these rights to you.

7Services from others

Some features — such as the weather, the city name, hadith search and audio recitation — come from other parties named in the privacy policy, and they have their own terms. They may change or stop without our knowledge, so we do not guarantee their continuity.

8Limits of liability

The app is provided free “as is”. We strive for its soundness and accuracy, but we do not guarantee it is free of every error or that it works without interruption. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for what may arise from using it or from being unable to — such as a missed time because a reminder was late, or lost data because the app was deleted or the device lost.

9The stores

If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Google Play or AppGallery, that store’s terms apply to you as well. These terms are between you and the developer of Wird alone, not between you and the store owners; they are not responsible for the app, its support or its content.

10Updates and discontinuation

We may add features, change them or remove them, and we may issue updates that must be installed for the app to keep working. You may stop using the app whenever you wish by deleting it.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, unless the laws of your own country give you rights that cannot be waived, which remain yours.

12Changes to the terms, and contact

If we amend these terms we will change the date at the top, and your continued use after that is acceptance of them. For any question: wird-app.com
